*1:イアン・アンダーソンは、言わずと知れたジェスロ・タルのリーダーだが、もうひとりのジェラルド・ミルトン・ボストックは、この歌のもととなる詩を書いたという（当時）８才の神童だということになっているが、これは当時のロック・シーンのひとつのトレンドであるコンセプト・アルバムというものを徹底して真面目に茶化そうというこのアルバムの趣旨にもとづいて、ジェスロ・タルが作り上げたひとつのコンセプトとしての存在、すなわち「大人びたシニカルな詩を書く早熟な少年」というコンセプトにもとづく架空の人物としての「作者」であって、実在の人物ではないところが味噌となっている。まあ、モンティ・パイソンとか初期のウディ・アレンなどにはよくあることだが、ジェスロタルもこんなふうに徹底して「コンセプト」というものを見事なまでに弄んでいるというわけです。
