*1:「アビシニア」とは（ヨーロッパでの）エチオピアの古い呼称だが、わたしにはこの「アビシニア」は語の響きからして「abyss」（深淵）という語を連想させ（それは天地創造以前の混沌をも指す言葉でもあるが）、（実際のアビシニアには地理的には海には接していないのだが）深い深い（奈落のような）海溝をイメージしてしまう。

*2:アルバム・タイトルは「T.Rex」となっているものの収録曲の大半は、（まだ全面的に電化する以前の）マーク・ボランとスティーヴ・ペルグリン・トゥックの２人編成の「Tyrannosaurus Rex」時代のシングルを中心にした編集の素晴らしい１枚で、この曲も（当時の）「未発表曲」として初めてこのアルバムで発表された。
