イギリス伝承のわらべ歌を集めた「マザー・グース」Mother Goose のことはよく知らないが、調べてみたら、この歌の歌詞のほとんどすべてが「マザー・グース」にもとづいたものとなっている。メロディのほうはどうなのだろうか。

*1:つまり「逃げろッ！」ということ。鬼に捕まっていたのが解放されたのです。

*2:その女の子の名前アン Ann とフライパンのパン pan が韻を踏み、一種の謎々のようにして「その子はアンだよ」となっている。そして、このフライパンが（冒頭や）次の句の「飛んで」flying にかかっていく。
