原曲の「プー横丁の家」を初めて書いた高校時代からすでに２８年の年月が経過し、彼には「ケニ・ロギンズ」というソロ・アーティストとしてのスターとしての人気と実績（「トップガン」「フットルース」「ロッキー４」「オーバー・ザ・トップ」などドル箱ハリウッド映画のサウンドトラックなど）があり、妻と４人の子供もできていた。

このリメイクされた「プー横丁の家」が入ったアルバム「Return to Pooh Corner」は、子供向けに企画されたアルバムで、いくつかの古くからの童謡と並んでジョン・レノンの「ラヴ」やジミー・ウェッブの「ザ・ラスト・ユニコーン」、ポール・ウィリアムズの「レインボー・コネクション」などがケニーの流儀で歌われている。
